OUR TOURS
Muir’s Tours offer manuhiri (visitors) the opportunity to experience a highly personalised encounter as we show case our seaside community of Maketū, situated in the Bay of Plenty.
We pride ourselves in sharing Te Ao Māori (the Māori world view) whilst living by and demonstrating our cultural values of manaakitanga, kaitiakitanga and whanaungatanga in all that we do.

Child Policy: 10 years old. Must be comfortable on the water and able to swim if required.

Our tours are suitable for a low level of fitness. Guests must be able to step onboard / off the boat with ease.

There is some uneven terrain when accessing local landmarks and sites of interest during our premium offering.

We have a barefoot policy onboard the vessel. Bring your swimwear, a towel, sun protection and any sea sickness tablets you may require. Wear comfortable clothing and footwear suitable for walking.

Guided ocean fishing excursion – catch and collect as you learn a range of different fishing techniques during your time with Deon. A packed lunch with refreshments is included onboard.

A privately guided cultural tour and Kai (food) experience. Take in the historical landmarks of Maketu and then afterwards take in all the Manaakitanga (hospitality) enjoying a hands on experience unearthing a traditional Maori Hangi at Deon’s home.
